I wanted to share a picture of this bridge I often cross on morning walks.
The bridge is over a small marshy area enclosed so well by trees that it’s easy to forget you’ve just stepped away from a busy road.
In the middle of summer the marshy ground around the bridge will sometimes dry up completely. I prefer it when the water level is high but the area always has its charm.
Sometimes when I’m walking along the bridge on a sunny day I like to imagine I’ve stepped into another realm, or at least the countryside, that there’s no one around for miles — just me on the bridge.
I’m determined that one day I’ll find the time to paint this bridge and the marsh around it. While I don’t consider my art skills good enough to do this place justice yet, I do think somewhere so magical deserves to be painted.
